There was a drop in the crime rate in Belleville during the last three months of 2009…compared to the same period in in the previous year.
Police Chief Cory McMullan reported to the Police Services Board today that there were no murders during that time as well. Seven of the eight robberies involved violence….three with weapons… a knife, pellet gun and baseball bat. During the three-month reporting period, there were 17-sexual assaults…3 unfounded…the rest all cleared by police.
