O-P-P Sergeant Kristine Rae says she can’t second guess why the police assured there was no need for concern about public safety following the murder of a Brighton woman..
A press release, issued on November 27th, two days after the body of Marie France Comeau was found, stated police investigators were advising area residents that there were presently no issues with regards to public safety. The former base commander at C-F-B Trenton is charged with her murder and the death of Jessica Lloyd of Belleville.
Rae also confirms a press release regarding the sexual assaults of two women in Tweed was issued only after the second assault in late September, two weeks after the first one. She also said she couldn’t speculate on decisions made at that time in regard to why the release came out when it did.
