The doors will remain open at Loyalist College until at least late February. The Ontario college teachers strike vote is too close to call. The teachers, including 160 at Loyalist, voted by about 51 per cent yesterday in favour of the contract offer but there are still 300 mail-in ballots to be counted. The Labour Relations Board will review the ballots and the results may not be known for 10 days or more. The teachers had set a strike date of next Wednesday, but if the offer is ultimately rejected, a new strike date will have to be set.
