It’s an ambitious goal but Belleville’s parks department wants a restaurant and bar open on Meyer’s Pier by the May 2-4 weeekend. The cleanup and landscaping is done…and, today Council turns its attention to retail and restaurant development at the Pier. Recreation and Community Services Director Mark Fluhrer is presenting a request for proposals to renovate and build a resort style restaurant and bar in the current building. Fluhrer hopes council continues to invest in its vision for a vibrant and active waterfront and is proposing a 150-to-200 seat facility with an outdoor dining area on the main level with phase two including a second dining area and new washrooms on the upper level.
