The mother of two students at the High School in Brighton hopes Ontario’s new School Safety Rules will help her kids.
Diane Jenkins says her 15- and 16-year-old daughters are constantly bullied inside and outside of the classroom at East Northumberland Secondary, and are afraid to go to school because they don’t feel protected.
She says the bullying turned into assault two weeks before Christmas, and claims one daughter’s hair was pulled and she was kicked in the head during class. Jenkins said the girl’s attacker was given a three-day suspension for hair pulling, and she is waiting for criminal charges from the O-P-P in connection with the incident.
