Brighton council has hired a new fire chief for the municipality. Lloyd Hutchinson, a long time Brighton resident, was appointed at last night’s council meeting, and will begin his new responsiblities on February 22nd. He replaces Dale Wales, who was let go in early January after only five months on the job.Hutchinson has over 20 years experience as a volunteeer firefighter in Brighton, has been a captain since 2002, and has been employed as a Head Custodian with the local public school board since 1986..
