The discussion involved a donation to the relief efforts in Haiti, but a past donation to the tsunami relief effort..was key to the final decision by Prince Edward County Council. Right after the devastating tsunami, Prince Edward Council voted to donate over one thousand dollars to the relief efforts, and many in the community expressed their displeasure with that decision…saying people could make their own decisions on what to donate to. So last night, Council voted to give 100 dollars toward the Haiti disaster, turning down a proposal to give a thousand. Councillor Lori Slik says a hundred dollars will do nothing to help.
