Quinte West O-P-P are investigating a fatal traffic accident near Bayside Secondary School. A caller to our newsroom, who asked not to be identified, says a woman, believed to be about 40, had walked her daughters to a bus stop at Bayview Drive at Old Highway Two shortly after 7-30 this morning, and was standing next to the highway when she was struck and killed by a pickup truck. The woman was trapped under the truck after it knocked her into a ditch on the south side of the highway. The O-P-P have closed Old Highway-2 in the Bayside area. The children weren’t injured.
