Quinte West has finished 2009 with a good-sized surplus in its Winter Control Budget.
Public Works Director Chris Angelo says 250-thousand of the 2.5-million dollars set aside for plowing, salting and sanding city streets, clearing sidewalks, and trucking snow away was left over when all the bills were added up.
He says the money will be transferred to other public works accounts this year for other projects.
