Belleville has agreed to go along with hiring a full-time archivist for the joint archives facility being developed with Hastings County. But, the decision wasn’t unanimous at last night’s city council meeting. Councillor Jackie Denyes didn’t support it…saying she would have supported a two-year contract instead.. Denyes says she favours going “more slowly” with the project. Councillors Taso Christopher and Bob Dolan also voted against the full-time position. Council also approved hiring an architect to draw up plans for the building. The city shares the cost 50-50 with the county.
