Lower Trent Conservation has issued a flood warning for the Trent River Watershed.
Communications Coordinator Marilyn Bucholtz says the over 45 millimetres of rain that fell last night and this morning has pushed up water levels in local rivers and streams, and she expects the high levels to continue until at least late this evening.
Bucholtz says ice conditions on local rivers and streams are quickly deteriorating, and she advises homeowners to ensure their sump pumps are working. There are some flooded roads around the area, and water has risen high enough to get into some yards close to waterways and streams.
