The closure of two service centres on the 4-0-1 east of Napanee will throw 80 people out of work, most of them students who work part time. The Ministry of Transportation says the service centre near Camden East, which contains a McDonald’s and a Petro-Canada, and the centre near Odessa, home to K-F-C, Tim Hortons and an Esso, will shut down on March 31st for redevelopment, and won’t reopen with full services until December, 2011. The sites will be turned over to new operators after the cleanup work is completed, as part of the province’s redevelopment of all service centres along its 400 series highways.
