Prince Edward County hopes to avoid disrupting Picton’s tourist traffic this summer…by spacing out major road work in the downtown. Tenders have been called for the two-million dollar reconstruction of Main Street from County Road Four to Walton Street. Project Manager Joe Angelo says the work will be done in two phases…..the first to be completed by the May long weekend, then resume work again after the Labour day weekend. Angelo says sanitary sewers and the watermain will be replaced during the project which is being funded in part by the province, since it is a “connecting link.” The tender deadline is February first.
