A Brighton man has been sentenced for stealing fireworks and beating up his former girlfriend’s new boyfriend.
Eighteen-year-old Mattieu Hetzel pleaded guilty in Cobourg Court to assault and theft, and was put on probation for one year and given a two-year weapons prohibition. He assaulted a man with his ex-girlfriend several times in a Brighton park on September 24th. He was also arrested by the O-P-P after a small amount of fireworks was taken from a Brighton convenience store on October 23rd.
