Provincial police are investigating a criminal case of false identity in Quinte West.
Police say the incident happened on North Trent Road last night (SAT).
A Frankford resident was reportedly stopped by what they thought was a police officer: a grey or beige coloured half tonne pick-up truck with a flashing, red/blue light on the interior dash.
The driver pulled over, thinking they were being stopped by an officer of the law.
The passenger of the suspect vehicle then reportedly got out and approached the victim’s car, only to be “scared off” by “oncoming traffic”.
The suspects drove off in a northward direction.
Police would like anyone with information to call the OPP or Crimestoppers.
