The Chief of the Stirling Rawdon Police service took some time to clarify a couple of things at this week’s Police Board meeting. Stirling Rawdon Police Chief Brian Foley told the Board that criminal record checks had resumed, and that revenues from the checks were expected to remain the same, and even increase. Some in the public worried that changes to what information could be released on the checks could lead to a reduction in revenue to Police departments doing them. Meanwhile, in response to a member of the public’s concerns that the Chief’s 5 year contract was a long one in comparison to others in the region, Chief Foley told the Board he’d canvassed other municipal police services in the area, and learned that a 5 year contract was, in fact, a shorter one then most other services had offered their Chiefs.
