Belleville “blues musician” Matt Smith heads for Memphis, Tennessee, later this month to compete in the International Blues Challenge. Smith says he’ll take is “slide guitar” and showcase his song-writing and two C-Ds. He says he’ll also be featuring traditional blues music in his own individual way. Smith, a member of the Loyal Blues Fellowship, will compete at Beale Street venues in Memphis… January 20th-23rd. This Saturday night, there’s a fundraising concert for the trip, featuring Smith’s trio at the Bohemian Penguin in downtown Belleville.
