Ameliasburgh councillor Sandy Latchford would like to be the next mayor of Prince Edward County.
Latchford filed her nomination papers for the October municipal election at Shire Hall in Picton yesterday, the first and only candidate so far to succeed Leo Finnegan.
Finnegan announced several months ago he would not run again for mayor after two terms in the position, beginning in 2003. Latchford was first elected in 2006, and believes she has the experience and interest to successfully do the Mayor’s job.
