A property owner in Belleville has caught the eye of city firefigthers over the condition of alarms in a house in the West Hill.
Fire crews responded to electrical concerns at 66 Catherine Street late yesterday afternoon, the issues were temporarily resolved, but an electrical safety order to be issued today will require the owner to address other electrical deficiences.
Further investigation discovered that location and other adjacent units were either missing operational smoke alarms or the smoke alarms weren’t working. The owner was issued six “fail to intall working smoke alarms” and two “fail to maintain smoke alarms in working condition” charges. Each offence carries a 235-dollar fine.
