A trial will be held next April for the parent company of the Norampac pulp and paper mill in Trenton on Ministry of the Envivonment charges.
A Ministry official says Cascades Canada was given the trial date in Belleville Provincial Court yesterday.
The company was charged in August, 2008 in connection with the discharge of black particulate contaminant into the environment at Norampac in February, 2007. Cascades said the discharge resulted from a problem with a steam reformer, which is used to reuse steam as an energy source.
