Four people are staying with friends and neighbours after losing their home to fire south of Marmora.
Marmora and Lake Township Fire Chief Tony Brownson says a garage on Red Oak Road was well involved when firefighters arrived late last night, and the flames had already spread to the attic of the adjoining house.
Fire crews were at the scene for about four hours, but weren’t able to save the structure.
Brownson says the two parents and two children got out okay, and damage is set at about 200-thousand dollars. He says a problem with a temporary light in the garage, which was under construction, is listed as the cause.
