Another deer hunting season is over, with no response again from hunters to a Belleville Police plea for information about a missing murdered man.
City police have asked hunters the past two autumns to call if they noticed anything unusual, like clothing, sleeping bags or unsettled ground north of Belleville and Kingston.
The appeal is part of the investigation of the disppearance of Calvin Vanness, who hasn’t been seen since leaving his Belleville home in March, 2008 to visit his brother in Arden.
Detective Peter Goulah says the investigation continues, even though the new leads he hoped for haven’t materialized.
