Stirling-Rawdon Township firefighters have brought under control a barn fire that killed two horses and some small farm animals just north of Stirling. The fire department says the structure was well involved when it got the call to 145 Mount Pleasant Road, near Barrett Road, at 4-30 this morning. Fire Chief Gene Thompson says the barn was destroyed, and water is being poured onto the flames to catch any hot spots. Meanwhile, fire gutted a house in Deloro yesterday morning. No one was there when the home on O’Brien Street went up in flames, but, the family dog was killed. Marmora fire chief Tony Brownson says there was over 100 thousand dollars damage and an investigation into the cause is underway. Firefighters also battled a house fire on Water Street near the community of Hastings yesterday.
