Some believe the man convicted of killing Minnie the Deer near Madoc should lose his vehicle, his firearms and even be thrown in jail for a year. Reaction is starting to pour in to a website dedicated the beloved family pet at the “RIP Minnie” Facebook page after news broke the Cobourg man was sentenced to a one year hunting ban and 2-thousand dollar fine on Tuesday. The MNR reports Ron Anderson saw the deer on private property behind a page wire fence and shot him from the roadway and left the dead deer on the property. Four year old Minnie was bottle fed by the Trotter family when she was just a fawn following the death of her mother. She was wearing two orange collars when she was shot and killed.
