Staff is recommending Atlas Corporation of the Toronto-area build the multi-million dollar expansion on the Quinte Sports Centre. Belleville Council will debate the issue at a special council meeting this afternoon. Four teams bid on the project which includes two NHL size ice pads, a gym and running track, an exercise room and an aquatics centre with a 25-metre pool. The bids are all in the 28-to-29 million dollar range. Ball Construction, Peak Engineering and Aquicon Construction also submitted bids. The special council meeting is set for 3:30 this afternoon.
