Two Bloomfield-area woman have dropped their fight with Prince Edward Country over the number of rabbits and birds on their property.
Chief Building Official Garry Davis, the O-P-P, animal control and bylaw enforcement officers went to the home of Ruth Butts and her mother Paula Deininger yesterday.
They were enforcing a court order issued this summer that the women could no longer keep the 80 rabbits, and a large number of ducks, chickens and geese in a barn and running loose outside their house on Wilson Road.
However, all but two rabbits and two ducks were gone, and the women were allowed to keep them. Officials seized 144 dogs from the home two years ago, and 22 in two separate incidents in July and October of this year.
