The RIDE program in Belleville did its job last night as two men were arrested at checkpoints. A 31 year old Prince Edward County man was stopped and refused to identify himself or provide a breath sample. And a 27 year old Wooler man was also checked and arrested for impaired driving, refusing to give a sample, and driving while disqualified. Both were released on promises to appear.
Meanwhile, five other men were arrested throughout the night for public intoxication and spent time in the cells. One of those men was also found with a quantity of marijuana and faces possession charges.
