It looks like Belleville’s Nortel plant will remain open….but, will soon fly under a different flag. Industry Minister Tony Clement approved the purchase of Nortel’s Enteprise Solutions business by Avaya. The company says its committed to keeping the Belleville Research and Development facility on Sidney Street open. Belleville will also be a centre for worldwide hardware development and support. Clement says the deal will maintain Research and Development activity and jobs in Canada.
