A 15-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a vehicle-pedestrian accident in Belleville which also hurt a two-year child.
City Police responded to the crash on Sidney Street north of Lewis Street at 5-15 yesterday afternoon.
The 15 year old was pushing the 2 year old in a stroller on the east sidewalk of Sidney, and witnesses said he ran into traffic, and was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by a 37 year old woman. Traffic was quite heavy at the time of the collision and had to be diverted to allow for the investigation.
The two year old was taken to Belleville Hospital for observation of non-life-threating injuries, and the teenager was transferred to the trauma unit at Kingston General Hospital in serious condition.
The accident is still under investigation.
