A woman from Tweed has been identified as the victim of Monday’s fatal traffic accident northeast of Deseronto.
The O-P-P say 57-year-old Elaine Lambert died when the car she was a passenger in crossed Deseronto Road, north of Old Highway Two, entered a ditch, and hit a telephone pole..
The driver, 46-year-old Wendy Owens of Marlbank, was thrown from the vehicle and is in Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and police say charges are pending.
