Prince Edward County Council has finally been given a date for a meeting with provincial officials about the Green Energy Act.
The working session, requested by Mayor Leo Finnegan in late October, will be held at the Prince Edward Community Centre on December 16th, and will also include Hydro One, several provincial ministries, and possibly the Department of National Defence..
Finnegan said at the time he hoped the meeting, which will not have public participation, would result in a made-in-Prince Edward solution to where industrial wind turbines are located.
The act exempts renewable energy projects, including wind, from local land use planning approvals.
