An internet card sent out to Belleville city councillors this week, from a person involved with the former Docs Palace, has councillors shaking their heads. The email card, sent by Carlos Moniz, depicts head photos of five of the male councillors super-imposed on dancing men. Mayor Neil Ellis says “these people have too much spare time on their hands”. He says he has a city to run and can’t get sidetracked with childish, immature behaviour. And Councillor Jack Miller says he can’t imagine why this is being done but it’s not worth losing sleep over. A number of councillors say they have been inundated with various emails from Moniz. A recent bylaw decision by city council meant Robert and Carlos Moniz could not open a strip club on Station Street.
