A look at Belleville police statistics over the past summer shows a decrease in crime-in-the-city..
Police Chief Cory McMullan told the Police Services Board today that robberies are down 31-percent, vehicle thefts dropped 32-percent, and sexual assaults have dropped 39-percent in the third quarter of this year. But she says there’s still work to be done since the crime statistics aren’t at zero. Of the 39-spousal assaults, seven involved bodily harm or weapons….the weapons of choice, beer bottles, a door, and a baby stroller.
