Arbitration involving Quinte Health Care and the union representing its Registered Nurses will continue next year.
Both sides met with an arbitrator for the first time this week over a claim by the Ontario Nurses Association the collective agreement was ignored when 70 nurses’ positions were cut in 2008 and ’09.
O-N-A President Linda Haslam-Stroud says some of the R-N’s are working in other positions at Quinte Health Care, and others have left. She says some of the 70 effected positions weren’t filled by any staff, and none by nurses.
Association Official Sheree Bond says both sides agreed to meet again in April and May to continue the arbitration hearing.
