The lowest bidder, IBI Group, has been chosen by Prince Edward County Council to update plans for the future of Picton, Hallowell and Wellington. The cost will be just over 200 thousand dollars, and the work will begin on the secondary plans before the end of the year. Councillor Barry Turpin hopes the planning consultants will put size limits on stores, saying many people worry big box stores will be a negative. Meanwhile, Councillor Keith MacDonald doesn’t want to put roadblocks in front of potential investment. The planning consultants may, or may not, after public consultation, make specifications on building size.
