The fate of a proposed joint archive facility in Belleville has been put on hold awaiting more information. Last night City Council considered plans for renovations and the hiring of a full-time archivist. Both Councillor Bob Dolan and Councillor Jack Miller questioned the hiring of a full-time archivist without a budget in place. A staff recommendation had also included part of the 100-thosuand dollar reserve be used for renovating the former Irish Hall for archives. The city and Hastings County shared the 300-thousand dollar cost of buying the Hall. The issue was tabled.
