The new YMCA of the City of Quinte West is succeeding beyond anyone’s expectations. The Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Quinte, Bob Gallagher, told Quinte West Council last night that there are now over 37 hundred members. Gallagher said when you added people that weren’t members but were taking part in short courses and day camps, the Y was serving close to 5 thousand Quinte West area residents. Gallagher said he wasn’t sure if the YMCA would be able to cover all of it’s operating expenses this year because the facility opened later in the year then originally planned.
