An Ontario Municipal Board Hearing that could last two weeks has begun at Shire Hall in Picton into Prince Edward County’s ward system.
The O-M-B is hearing arguments from the Electors of Prince Edward County into why council should act before the next municipal election in reducing the number of wards from ten to six.
The group also wants the number of councillors cut from the current 15, but council wants to hold a referendum on both issues in next November’s election.
The O-M-B hearing, which began this morning, is scheduled to run each day until November 27th, except for this Wednesday.
