Central Hastings residents have been getting phone calls from someone pretending to be a Bell Canada employee.
The O-P-P say the scam was reported this week, and people complained the so-called Bell worker asked for personal information, such as social insurance numbers.
The ploy for the scam is the phone company is upgrading home telephone service.
However, police say no personal details should be given over the phone to anyone who calls.
