There’s another local link to the opening festivities at the Royal.
Terry Veevers of Picton was the driver of the royal horse-drawn carriage yesterday (FRI).
Veevers told the Picton Gazette that he’s had celebrity passengers before, but this time he was nervous about driving Prince Charles and Camilla.
Veevers drove his own carriage and team of Clydesdales in yesterday’s ceremonies.
The Royal Winter Fair goes until November 15.
