Members of Brighton Council will have proof at their next meeting of how unsuccessful the municipality has been in getting federal -provincial funding.
Council asked staff in September to prepare a report on infrastructure projects getting money from the senior levels of government in other communities in Northumberland-Quinte West, compared to Brighton.
Brighton has received only 12 per cent of the six-million dollars requested over the past two years, while Cobourg and Cramahe Township have been approved for 90 per cent of the money they asked for, and Quinte West got 45 per cent of the funding it applied for.
Brighton’s Committee of the Whole will study the report when it meets on Monday night.
