The Hastings-Prince Edward Medical Officer of Health has commented on the confusion over Canada’s H-1-N-1 flu vaccination program.
Doctor Richard Schabas says part of it is bad luck, but part of it is probably poor management.
He said the vaccine could have been available much sooner if the seasonal flu vaccine had been cancelled last summer and the pandemic version pushed into production.
Some experts say the federal government and local public health authorities made crucial mistakes, resulting in long lines, cancelled clinics and shortages.
