The H-1-N-1 outbreak on Quinte Five at the Belleville Hospital is over.
Three patients affected by the virus on October 27th have been treated and released from hospital, and there has been no additional spread of infection on the inpatient unit.
A lot of people are still visiting Quinte Health Care’s four hospitals’ emergency departments because they believe they may have H-1-N-1, and Chief Nursing Executive Katherine Stansfield says 45 per cent of them are showing influenza-like symptoms.
Q-H-C has also begun limiting visitors to two members of the immediate family, thirteen years of age and older, on the maternity-paediatric unit in Belleville and the obstetric unit in Picton to protect infants who can’t be immunized.
