Ontario’s new homeowners are “pushed to the brink” and don’t need another tax such as the Harmonized Sales Tax…according to the Quinte and District Real Estate Board.
Spokesman Doug Row says in the last decade homeowners have faced a number of new costs from Municipal Land Transfer taxes to sky-rocketing property taxes. Row says representatives of the Ontario Real Estate Association met with MPPs on the weekend to discuss the “negative imact of the Harmonized Sales Tax on housing sales.”
