Quinte area municipalities are making a bid to attract companies in the ethnic food industry. Executive director of the Quinte Economic Development Commission, Chris King, says the commission participated in an Ethnic Specialty Food Show in Toronto recently, talking with companies that might be interested in expanding or re-locating. He says they could take advantage of training programs at Loyalist College. King says ethnic food now makes up 12-percent of all food sales in Canada.
