The University of Western Ontario’s former dean of medicine is lending his voice to a legal challenge from a Prince Edward County man to have more wind turbines erected. Dr. Robert McMurtry says the windmills’ intermittent swooshing is creating a laundry list of health problems for nearby residents, including headaches, sleep deprivation and heart palpitations. He says turbines create a noise level that is more disruptive than traffic or airplanes. The legal challenge was launched yesterday by Ian Hanna of Big Island who worries for his family’s health.
