Water is still top-of-the-mind for many residents along the Bay of Quinte, especially those in Bayside.
It’s been two weeks since the Hastings and Prince Edward District Health Unit issued a warning about a toxic blue-green algae in the bay… and ever since, people have been avoiding using or even going near the water.
The health unit says municipal water sources are safe… but it’s people drawing their water from the bay using wells who should not be using the water.
Originally, the region hardest hit was identified as the shoreline between Point Anne and Bayside…but last week’s advisory extended the area of concern from Carrying Place to the Skyway Bridge.
The boil water advisory followed a Thursday-morning water main break on Aikins Road.
