It’s been a controversial issue in Belleville for the past few months and it’s back before city council again today. Staff has completed a report on its expired adult enterainment bylaw which recommends limiting the number of strip clubs inthe city to two. The report also includes other recomendations such as size limits and distances between other such businesses and sensitive areas such as schools, churches and neighborhoods…and that adult entertainment to be the exclusive use on the lot…rather than allowing a combination of businesses. Recently, it was announced two brothers plannd to re-open the Doc’s Palace across from the VIA station as a Russian-Portuguese Restaurant, strip club and hotel.
