Controversial wind farms…up for discussion yesterday by Prince Edward Council….specifically the Bryan Wind project in Hallowell and Sophiasburg, including Big Island. Sky Power has completed an environmental review for the 43 turbine proposal. It says it will have a more positive effect on life and the economy then a negative one. but, the County’s Economic Development Officer, Dan Taylor, warns that windmills could hurt the growing creative rural economy. Prince Edward Council is asking for it’s environmental and lifestyle concerns to be addressed, or the province to force Sky Power to do a more detailed environmental assessment. It is also asking the province to allow the County to decide on where industrial wind projects should be located.
