The Health Unit responsible for Northumberland County is getting a 3.8 per cent funding increase from the provincial government.
The Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge Health Unit board was told yesterday the Health Ministry is providing almost eleven-million dollars in 2009-10.
However, the funding, although up from last year, is still 763-thousand dollars less than requested, leaving a projected draft shortfall of 99-thousand dollars.
Administration director Susan Bickle says that will be eliminated through ongoing cost-cutting measures by the end of this year.
